The International Atomic Energy Agency is intensifying efforts to foster global collaboration and establish regulatory frameworks to support the transition of fusion energy from research to commercial deployment.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is taking a more active role in preparing for the eventual deployment of fusion power plants, emphasizing the need for international cooperation and standardized regulatory approaches. Aline des Cloizeaux, Director of the IAEA’s Division of Nuclear Power, stated that fusion technology has the potential to transform global energy production. The agency aims to serve as a central hub for this collaboration, facilitating the exchange of information and best practices among its member states.
