The European Commission opened a €120 million Horizon Europe call under the new EU INFUSE programme, designed to fund partnerships between national laboratories and private fusion developers operating in member states. The instrument is explicitly modeled on the U.S. DOE INFUSE programme launched in 2019.

Eligible national-lab partners include CEA-IRFM (France), ENEA (Italy), IPP Garching (Germany), and VTT (Finland). First-call applications close September 12.
